EP Cyclists La Vuelta Trip (26, 27 & 28 June 2026)
Tuesday, June 23, 2026: Load up bikes in trailer
- Bike spots are limited, please reserve your spot on time (Active Club members will have priority)
- Load Bikes at the EPC’s Taco Tuesday ride
- Location: Super Target, Joe Battle
- Time: 6-8 pm
- There is NO event registration fee, however bike transportation fee will be determine on amount of participants transporting the bikes
Day 1 Thursday, June 25, 2026: Arriving & Pizza night
- Trailer will open doors around 4:30 pm at Comfort Inn Chula Vista hotel parking lot
- Everyone assists in off- loading the bikes from the trailer
- 6 pm Meeting and last review at the swimming pool—bring swim suit.
- EP Cyclists will cover the Pizza for participants.
- Bedtime not later than 10 pm

Day 2 Friday, June 26, 2026: First riding Day
Uniform of the Day

- Around 65 miles
- Hot Breakfast will start service at 6:00 am
- Load trailer with luggage by 7:00 am the latest
- Be ready to launch at 7:15 am
- We need to travel 17 miles to the catch the ferry by 9:00 am
- A group picture on the way at the Naval facility
- Ferry departs at 9:30 am (EP Cyclists will paid the cost of the Ferry)
- Ferry drops us off on the other side of the bay
- Photo optional at the Sailor and Nurse
- Then the fun starts
- Ride along the shoreline
- Then a climb to the skinny bridge and to beach
- Next is one of my favorite spots “La Jolla “
- A few interesting climbs are next, util we arrive to our lunch in Encinitas, CA
- Then the last 10 + miles to hotel Holiday Inn Oceanside
- This year we need to get to Camp Pendleton by 2 pm-ish to get our pass
- Once arriving to hotel trailer will open doors for luggage pick up
- Everyone assists in getting your luggage
- Please do not check in your hotel before getting your luggage, trailer will close door soon after arrival and will not open until next morning
- After a shower we head out for a cold one and some fish tacos

Day 3 Saturday, June 27, 2026: Here comes the Rollers
Uniform of the Day

- Around 50 miles
- Eat Breakfast
- Load luggage by 7:45 am
- Launch at 8 am sharp
- Roll into Camp Pendleton loud and proud. Hoorah!!!
- Mostly rollers with a few climbs
- Then Las Pulgas gate
- 10 miles of flats in side of a camping groups park
- We climb out to Dana Point
- Brunch at the Dana Point Marina
- Climb out of the Marina to 10 miles of rollers
- To Laguna beach
- More rollers
- Arrive to hotel in New Port Beach
- Once arriving to hotel trailer will open doors for luggage pick up
- Everyone assists in getting your luggage
- Please do not check in your hotel before getting your luggage, trailer will close door soon after arrival and will not open until next morning
- Shower and Uber to the boardwalk for dinner

Day 4 Sunday, June 28, 2026: Last day (Patriotic day)
Uniform of the Day

- Around 55 miles
- Nice warm up along the capital of Beach Volleyball
- Through the nice areas of Long Beach
- Climb the spiral
- Photo ops
- Take the river route
- Through the port on Long Beach into the barrio
- To the last climb
- Palo Verde horse ranches, Where Tiger Wood crashed
- Nice descend to where we will have lunch at a pier a lot of different options
- The last 20 miles 99% flat but hard a long the beach
- Three days of riding and after having lunch oh well
- Pass Venice Beach where once beautiful
- Then you see the Ferris wheel on the St Monica Pier you get excited again
- Take group picture and cheers all our first timers and embrace each other with joy, Crying is optional
- Once arriving trailer will share location to open doors for luggage pick up and bike load up
- Please do not check in your hotel before getting your luggage, trailer will close door soon after arrival and will depart soon after
- Some people will be flying out that night, or driving out
- Others will fly out the next day
Tuesday, June 30, 2026: Bike pick up
- Bikes pick up at the EPC’s Taco Tuesday ride
- Location: Super Target, Joe Battle
- Time: 30 minutes prior of ride (TBD)
- Additional charges may apply if bike cannot get pick up that day
- Trailer will be back at the storage facility
EP Cyclists La Vuelta Trip (26, 27 & 28 June 2026)

BIKE TRANSPORTATION FEE AND UNIFORM
- EP Cyclists will provide bike transportation for those participants that would like to pay a small fee. This fee will be determined base on the amount of participants, the more people participate the cheaper it will be. The club trailer has a limited amount of space so is a “First come, first served” availability. EP Cyclists active members will have priority to secure/reserved a spot before we open to non-members. If you are unable to load up and/or pick up your bike additional charges may apply.

- BE AWARE THAT WEARING OUR JERSEYS IS NOT MANDATORY HOWEVER, IT IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGE TO USE THE EP CYLISTS UNIFORMS ASSIGNED FOR EACH DAY OF OUR EVENT. WEARING THE UNIFORM WILL PROVIDE US A BETTER DISTINCTION FROM OTHER CYCLISTS. IF YOU ARE NOT WEARING OUR JERSEYS WILL BE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO IDENTIFY YOURSELF WITH THE RIDE LEADERS FOR BETTER HEADCOUNT OF PARTICIPANTS.

- NOTE: IF YOU SUFFER FROM A MEDICAL CONDITION THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT, IT IS GOOD PRACTICE TO CARRY A ZIP LOCK (BAG) IN WHICH A NOTE IS INCLUDED, SO THAT IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT, THE MEDICAL AUTHORITIES CAN BE AWARE OF IT.
RULES FOR ALL OUR RIDERS:
- No alcoholic beverages will be allowed during the course of our event.
- Only cyclists in the event uniform will be allowed at the event.
- Headphones, taking photos or selfies are not allowed while you are in the peloton participating in our event.
- Triathlon (TT) bicycles are not allowed.
- There will be no CUT-OFF or elimination of any cyclist.
- This is a Club event, but a high-performance one. Training is highly recommended for every body enjoyment and safety.
- Understand, if for some reason a cyclist is staying too far from the peloton we will regroup in a safe place. No rider will be left behind.
- All personal escorts will be able to participate in our event, but they must remain at all times behind our riders and official escorts.
- Cyclist who passes our leaders will be out of our event.
- It is mandatory to maintain proper order in the peloton. For that reason we ask that you stay in rows of 2 by 2 at all times for the safety of all. (When it is a single row, it will be notified).
- Your punctuality is necessary at the time of departure from our event.
- The “AVERAGE” speed of Group will be 16 to 18.
BAGGAGE PICK-UP AND TRANSFER
On the day of departure, the trailer will be open for all participants to drop off their luggage. Once trailer door closes will not reopened until it reaches the next hotel. This is to protect all participants belongings. Once in the next hotel, trailer will open doors for all participants to get their own luggage. We ask not check in at your hotel until picking up your luggage. Trailer will close doors soon after arrival.
NOTE: If you decide of staying in different hotel, will be your responsibility to coordinate transportation to your respective hotel. The vehicle assigned for trailer is only for this purpose and it will only go to main hotel, not residences, or Air B&B’s.
We only ask that you follow the aforementioned rules and we wish you a weekend of pure adrenaline, challenges, joy and achievements. Much to our regret, cyclists who do not follow the rules will be out of the event.
